We will discuss how the effects of advertising, media, and our consumer culture can influence and child's view of the world, how to create meaningful family times and healthful environments for children, and explore ways to develop a child's connection to nature, and foster creativity. Discovery circles are self-guided programs in which participants read articles by leaders in the field of study, discuss their responses to the points raised in the readings, and through personl reflection and group discussion develop informed actions (choices) that will help "green" and enrich their lives.
