McCormick and Schmick's in Reston Town Center


I think McCormick located in Reston Town Center is feeling the heat from the new restaurants that opened up near by. During a recent visit I noticed that they dropped their prices by 15 to 20 percent. Which is good. But I am wondering if they are also sacrificing quality. I tried their Grilled Salmon Caesar Salad for lunch. Romain lettuce was bitter and tasted as if it was previously frozen. The salmon fillet was small, think and burned. Also, for some reason the heater was broken and guests were having to shuffle to the inner rooms for a warmer place.

The McCormick & Kuleto's (a sister restaurant) in San Francisco is one of my favorite restaurants and I go to visit my favorite bar tender Frank there when ever I am in town. He makes a killer screwdriver with fresh orange juice. Our McCormick does not come close to it in service and food quality.

Wine Kitchen in Leesburg, VA is a whole new experience in tantalizing your taste buds and renewing your palate to an outer realm. From the lemon risotto "lollipop"to the mouth watering braised local lamb shoulder that just melts in your mouth and ending with Dark chocolate crepes garnished with chocolate ganache and bacon brittle. That is only one of their dinners for service. Their attention to detail and unique flair will set them on the Loudoun County Map if it has not already. Forget the diet and enter this wonderland experience of true decadence paired with the fabulous wines of which my own sorority sister Tracey and her husband Jared poured their new syrahs from their vineyard in Berkeley named Donkey & Goat Winery. Where life and wine can be a great pair. Try it and Enjoy.

I just ate at 4 Sisters in Fairfax/Merrifield area. This is a growing area of Fairfax with a lot of new construction/retail/restaurants going in. Four Sisters is Vietnamese and is run by 4 sisters. They just moved from their Eden Center location which was old and dated. This is new and chic. I highly recommend it!

And Panache is a great new restaurant up at Tysons Corner. It is lovely inside and the food is excellent. They are located on the ground floor of the Wachovia Bank building which is up the side road from Clyde's heading towards the Galleria.

When it comes to wings, you will laugh! The best wings are at Manhattan Pizza in Ashburn!
I know BWF will hate me for saying, bc there's are great too--but you really can't beat them at Manhattan!

I live close to Tyson's corner and tend to go out more in the Tyson's, Falls Church, Arlington and Alexandria area. Any plans to review some more restaurants in those areas soon?
