Connecting Modern Women and Moms

During our shopping yesterday at Target we ran into Redskins players doing community service shopping with some kids for back to school stuff.  This reminded me of years of collected colored pencils, erasers, crayons and other this and that we have at home.

I am not sure if you will agree with me but half the stuff I bought for my 18 year old and 13 year old for years with the list that came home from school seem to me that was wasted.
  1. Some stuff was not used at all
  2. Some stuff was not used because that teacher didn't want it anyway
  3. Some stuff was too soon to bring it to school - it got lost before it was time to use it
  4. And many of the stuff came back home at the end of the year barely used
This is not only NOT so ECO-FRIENDLY but also ridiculous.  Lot's of money spent to get this stuff is wasted.
Children ended up lots more then what they needed, they worried about storing the stuff at school, teaching them being wasteful, not appreciate what they have and every year it was repeat.
Not to mention that items had to be a complete packs of this many colors in that type.  So we could not send in what we already have left from year before.

Anyway, I sometimes wonder if they really needed all that stuff or it's ordered just in case they need it.

Here is an article that explains it a little better Back to School Shopping

It's just one of those things that needs to change but how I don't know.
