Oh my goodness!! This is the a great treatment!! I have over the many years as a stylist worked with many hair straighteners. The Brazilian, is a great, no commitment straighting treatment. Many straighteners leave the hair some what lifeless. They do what they say. Straighten. Whats great about the Brazilian Keratin Treatments are that once the hair is shampooed at the proper time, your hair is smooth, straight and full of BODY!! It is great for all types of hair. Actually the more that the hair is colored, high-lited or damaged the better the product works!! The longer it will stay straighten! Yes, there is a low amount of formaldehyde, I think people should be more interested in what other straighteners have in them that make the hair permanently straight. Any client I have used this product on, LOVES IT!! You want shine, smooth, and body!! This is the treatment!!! As I do recommend, consult with a stylist and find out what is best for your hair and what you need for your daily life style!! Its not the products that damages the hair. It is what the stylist doesn't know about the product that damages the hair. If your thinking about it, try it you will LOVE it!! Hi Cathleen, so I assume you offer this service at the salon? What is the cost (I have long thick hair) and how often should I expect results to last before doing it again? Also, can you describe the process a little and how long does it take to do?

Hi Karina, yes we offer the Brazilian Treatment. The process to the treatment is about 2 hours long for the length and thickness of your hair. You don't have to shampoo that day. We cleanse the hair, making sure we get all product and excess oil out of the hair. We then blow-dry and apply the product onto the dry hair. It is like putting a conditioner on dry hair and blowing it dry into the hair. This takes a minute to do. Once dry, then we flat iron the hair. The heat helps drive the product into the hair and seal the cuticle. You can not get the hair wet for 4 days. So think about what you have on your schedule for those days. By the time that 4th day comes, that shampoo is well deserved!! :) The cost will be anywhere from $150- $250. Depending on the length of time needed to do the service. It will last about 3 months depending on porosity of the hair and the climate. Hope that helps. I am doing one on Sat. Jan 24th at 4pm. You are welcome to stop by to check it out!!

Does this keratin treatment work for black hair that is relaxed also? I would love to move away from the relaxer, but need it!

I have shopped around and should note here that the price above is a good one (assuming it has not changed). Assuming I do this, should it be before or after coloring/relaxing/highlighting/etc.? How many days in between??? I will look into getting it done before the summer humidity hits us!

The Brazillian Keratin works well over relaxed hair. It makes the hair feel soft and super shiny. It can be used instead of texturizes or relaxers depending on your individual needs.
