And, with that, Christmas was over in a flash. All we are left with are mounds of torn gift wrapping, a few extra pounds, and a sad looking tree wasting away in front of our eyes! As you begin your clean up, you may be wondering just what you should do with that tree. No worries, Loudoun County has you covered once again!

Loudoun County “residents who receive curbside recycling services should contact their HOA, town office, or private waste collector for Christmas tree curbside recycling information.” Or, simply take your wilting tree to one of the following locations to dispose of:

Leesburg: Loudoun County Landfill Recycling Dropoff Center, 21101 Evergreen Mills Road, Leesburg, 20175, Normal hours of operation: Monday – Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Lovettsville: Game Protective Association, 16 South Berlin Pike, Lovettsville, 20180, Open daily.

Purcellville: Franklin Park, 17501 Franklin Park Drive, Purcellville, 20132, Open daily, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

South Riding: Town Hall, rear parking lot next to tennis court, 43055 Center Street, South Riding, 20152, Open daily

Sterling: Claude Moore Park (use Loudoun Park Lane entrance, go to ball fields), 21544 Old Vestal's Gap Road, Sterling, 20164, Open daily 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

In addition, please remember to NOT place your tree in a bag and be sure all decorations, lights, and stands have been removed. Sorry, wreaths are not accepted.

So, make your tree “green again” by taking it to one of these facilities where they will be processed into mulch!
